It dehydrates you, which means you’re getting less oxygen flowing through your body. It also makes it easier to fall of asleep, but it increases your chances of waking during the night and having disruptive sleep patterns.

This disrupts your brain activity and this limits your restorative sleep. You can find yourself wide awake at 3 AM wondering about life and the meanings (haha). This is certainly a tip to boost energy that will help your health.
